Slightly shorter code using insertRow and insertCell :. Also, this doesn't use some "bad practices", such as setting a border attribute instead of using CSS, and it accesses the body through document. Might not solve the problem described in this particular question, but might be useful to people looking to create tables out of array of objects:.

The materials and techniques are not important as long as your benchwork gets the job done. For your first benchwork project you may want to try a small plywood table. This will get your trains off the floor and give you a place to add scenery to your model railroad. Jim Hediger of Model Railroader magazine developed this train table and we highly recommend it.
The end sills and cross members need to be cut 47" long to allow for the thickness of the side sills. The frame of the tabletop is divided into quarters by cross-members glued and nailed in place. The legs are made by nailing 40"-long strips together with short lengths of 2 x 2 added to the ends of the legs with T nuts to hold leveling screws.

Model Railroading: The Ultimate Guide Benchwork for a small layout Jim Hediger of Model Railroader magazine developed this train table and we highly recommend it. This variation of the model train table includes a removable 18 x 72 inch staging area. The all-plywood train table Good, straight, knot-free dimensional lumber 1 x 3s or 2 x 4s has become expensive and difficult to find, so Jim Hediger, senior editor of Model Railroader magazine, devised the all-plywood table.
The charge for this service is usually reasonable, and the strips will be perfectly straight. Jim Hediger of Model Railroader magazine uses paneling nails and yellow carpenter's glue to assemble the table frame and legs.
Jim uses the same 3"-wide plywood strips to make the layout legs, rather than using the more-traditional 2 x 2s or 2 x 4s.As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases from the links on this site.
Thanks for your support. Whatever your hobby is, chances are you have an area you can get away from everything, and enjoy your craft in peace. For modelers, it's probably a garage or a basement, or maybe even a special room in the house, or a shed just outside the house. These are just some images of some modeling areas I've had over the years. This is the late s, I was still a teenager. Since I was home, around this time, I occasionally built models on the kitchen table, rather than in my room.
The model here is a Monogarm Ford F I believe. I lived in apartments once out of high school. But did still build models at this time, usually cars and a few aircraft. In this image, I had moved into a duplex, which is like a small house. It had one bedroom. But I somehow ended up with an old desk, and converted that into a work space for just modeling. It was small, in the corner of the living room, but worked well. Note the glass top I worked on. I prefer glass as it's easy to clean, and glue won't stick to it.
Although in recent years I have switched to a polished piece of marble tile. I modified the right side to house my bottles of paints, and the left side had a swinging panel where I used thumbtacks on cork to hold up my paper model directions. My goal was to keep all my model stuff on this one bench, since it was in the corner of the apartments living room.
It was a crowded bench, but I made it work. This was around the late 's. Later on when I bought a house, I had model desks of several kinds inside. But these were used furniture, and didn't hold up or work out well.
I still had to go elsewhere to paint or do sanding, and I was constantly going in and out of the house. It wasn't very conveniant. For a time I worked out of a small garage area on the side of my house that was used for storage primarily, but had plenty of room.
And I could make a mess. Later I moved out into my 2 car garage, which was much better. In the image below, my desk was made from an old house interior door and was quite large. I like large workspaces because I tend to work on more than one model project at a time. The bench was a mix match of the door top, a smaller wood top, and plastic shelves from Lowes.
Over a period of years, my workbench changed, got moved around, and morphed into something else. At this point I had moved it under a window in the garage. Note the right side area for taking photos. And storage shelving on the left for paints and some kits. To expand the workbench, I added some cinder blocks and wood shelves for more supplies.
I always liked the natural light from the window when modeling, especialy with paints. The tackle box was handy, as it held most of the tools I had all in one place.By default, table headings are bold and centered. They can contain all sorts of HTML elements; text, images, lists, other tables, etc.
If you want the borders to collapse into one border, add the CSS border-collapse property:. To left-align the table headings, use the CSS text-align property:. To set the border spacing for a table, use the CSS border-spacing property:.
Note: If the table has collapsed borders, border-spacing has no effect.
To make a cell span more than one column, use the colspan attribute:. To make a cell span more than one row, use the rowspan attribute:. To define a special style for a special table, add an id attribute to the table:. If you want to report an error, or if you want to make a suggestion, do not hesitate to send us an e-mail:. A Data Model allows you to integrate data from multiple tables, effectively building a relational data source inside an Excel workbook.
Before you can start working with the Data Model, you need to get some data. Where is Power Pivot? Excel - Power Pivot is part of the Office Professional Plus edition of Excelbut is not enabled by default.
Learn more about starting the Power Pivot add-in for Excel Excel - Power Query is an add-in that's included with Excel, but needs to be activated.
A Power Query tab will be added to the ribbon. Excel - Download and install the Power Query add-in. Once activated, a Power Query tab will be added to the ribbon. First, you need to get some data. Excel prompts you to select a table. If you want to get multiple tables from the same data source, check the Enable selection of multiple tables option. When you select multiple tables, Excel automatically creates a Data Model for you.Joe Marrone's Model Aircraft Building Table
You can download our Student Data Model sample workbookand follow along. You can also download a version with a completed Data Model.
If you need to edit the source data, you can choose the Edit option. You now have a Data Model that contains all of the tables you imported, and they will be displayed in the PivotTable Field List. Models are created explicitly when you use the Power Pivot add-in to import data. In the add-in, the model is represented in a tabbed layout similar to Excel, where each tab contains tabular data. A model can contain a single table.
To create a model based on just one table, select the table and click Add to Data Model in Power Pivot. You might do this if you want to use Power Pivot features, such as filtered datasets, calculated columns, calculated fields, KPIs, and hierarchies. Table relationships can be created automatically if you import related tables that have primary and foreign key relationships. Excel can usually use the imported relationship information as the basis for table relationships in the Data Model.
For tips on how to reduce the size of a data model, see Create a memory-efficient Data Model using Excel and Power Pivot. If you see worksheet-like data, then a model exists.I have been building balsa wood models for about 13 years now and have a good supply of kits stock piled up waiting to be built, a few of these kits are small stick and tissue rubber band powered models that I have picked up here and there.
Normally when I build a large model I well dig out my big old 6 foot long building board that I put together quit a few years ago but for these small models it is not very practical to use such a large building board and it would be a lot more comfortable to build models, at least the small ones, inside and not in the unheated garage. So to solve my problem I have decided to make another building board that is small and better suited for small models.
I have to credit my friend Dan for this one, he showed me that you can use a ceiling tile for sticking pins in, he has a nice smooth work bench so he just lays the tile on that. I mount mine to base boards so they are more portable, the large one I have I set up on saw horses when I use it, and can be stuck up against the wall when not in use. Did you use this instructable in your classroom? Add a Teacher Note to share how you incorporated it into your lesson.
The main idea of a building board is to have a flat even surface that you can pin parts to to make the different bit of the model. To make it so I can stick pins in the board I use a cheap ceiling tile, the back is flat and the material is soft so you can stick pins in it.
I am making a board that is 2' by 2' but you can make the board any size you like by simply increasing the size of the materials. Materials: -Plywood, since I am building a board that is 2 feet square I picked up a precut piece of plywood that is 24" by 24". Make sure you board is flat.
You can make any size board you like just increase materials accordingly. The tiles come in 2' by 4' pieces so for my board I well only use half of a tile. Decide which side of the plywood board is the smoothest, this is the side you want to stick the ceiling tile to. Take the double sided tape and put tape all around the edges of the board and diagonally. Simple as that. When the ceiling tile gets chewed up from being poked with pins and gouged with a hobby knife when trimming parts, just peel off the old tile and stick on a new one, in my case the other half.
Tip 1 year ago. Lot of good suggestions for building boards. Cardboard, ceiling tile and cork are all great. I had done one with glue.
Like the idea of double sided tape much easier way to replace surface materials. Wax paper over the plans allows for more projects. Board makes it easy to move small projects when cramped for room.
I copy old Jetco plans to pass on to my grandsons friends. It's ashame you can hardly find rc kit planes any more they are all eather almost ready to fly or ready to fly which takes out the fun and satisfaction of building your own airplane. Reply 11 years ago on Introduction. That is another great way to do it as well but I find that the ceiling tile holds the pins more stable and last a long time so the expense is well justified for me.
I have done the card board as a building material as well, a long time ago I found a plan on the web for an RC glider made from corrugated card board that was shaped as a giant paper airplane. Have you seen the SPAD website? They make models out of corrugated plastic, like what signs are made of.
Hi, I used to use a sort of "Fibre Board" but as you can imagine when it was full of holes etc I had to get rid. I couldn't find another????? Thanks, Nick. The general steps involved in creating a data mining model are summarized as follows:. Test the model. See Oracle Data Mining Concepts for information about test metrics for classification and regression. Evaluate the model with questions like: How accurate is the model? If there are rules associated with the model, what is their confidence and support?
How well does the model address the business question? Numerous settings are available for configuring data mining models at build time. To specify settings, create a settings table and pass it to the model creation process. A settings table is optional, because all settings have default values. Table Settings Table Required Columns. Example creates a settings table for an SVM classification model. If you do not specify the kernel function, the algorithm chooses the kernel based on the number of attributes in the data.
Table Data Mining Algorithms. A cost matrix biases a classification model to minimize costly misclassifications. The cost matrix table must have the columns shown in Table Decision Tree is the only algorithm that supports a cost matrix at build time. However, you can create a cost matrix and associate it with any classification model for scoring. Prior probabilities can be used to offset differences in distribution between the build data and the actual population.
The priors table must have the columns shown in Table Table Priors Table Required Columns. The weights table must have the columns shown in Table When used with the ALL prefix, this view returns information about the settings for the models accessible to the current user.
When used with the USER prefix, it returns information about the settings for the models in the user's schema. These settings have been specified in a settings table for the model.
A data mining function specifies a class of problems that can be modeled and solved. Data mining functions implement either supervised or unsupervised learning. Supervised learning uses a set of independent attributes to predict the value of a dependent attribute or target. Unsupervised learning does not distinguish between dependent and independent attributes. Table Mining Model Functions. Association is a descriptive mining function.
An association model identifies relationships and the probability of their occurrence within a data set. Attribute Importance is a predictive mining function.
An attribute importance model identifies the relative importance of an attribute in predicting a given outcome. Classification is a predictive mining function.
A classification model uses historical data to predict a categorical target. The default is Naive Bayes. The classification function can also be used for anomaly detection.
